Gosch says Goodbye to the Sidelines…

After six seasons of being the “Head Wolf”  Lance Gosch has stepped down as the head football coach at Reeds Spring.

Gosch told his team of his decision this morning.  The Wolves all time leader in wins and winning percentage has decided to devote his full attention to his activities director duties.

The Wolves won 49 games with Gosch at the helm and did that at a .721 clip.  He won two Central Ozarks Conference Championships and finished second in the district on two different occasions.

Gosch came to Reeds Spring as an assistant on Brian Moler’s staff after running  a program in California.  He made the transition to head coach when Moler moved into the role of assistant principle.

Under Coach Gosch his defense was know for being prepared and being able to make adjustments on the fly.  As a former coach once told me “The way his kids talk to each other and get themselves properly aligned is a good sign of great coaching”

As a broadcaster I could not ask for any better experience than I received working with Gosch, and Moler before him.  They have both been incredible to me and although he is not going anywhere, and I will still get to see and talk to him, I am going to miss him being on that sideline tremendously.

The search for the next head coach as begun.  Interested coaches may apply on the schools website.

#1 Blue Eye…. Best in the State

The number one story of 2019 takes us to Blue Eye and a couple of sports that do not get the attention they deserve.

In the Fall of 2018 the Blue Eye girls Cross Country team finished as State Runners up.  We all saw a glimpse of what was to come.

We flip the calendar to 2019, add a few athletes and the Blue Eye Lady Bulldog Track Team took aim on the rest of the state.  The result?…  The first State Championship in the schools history.

Now that would be worthy of the top story, all to itself.  But the Blue Eye success of 2019 did not stop there.  Led by Avery and Riley Arnold, the Lady Bulldog Cross Country team dominated the competition throughout the entire fall and the season ended on top of the podium hosting another State Championship Trophy.

It was not just the girls that found success.  The boys finished the Cross-Country season as State Runners-Up.

Congrats to the Running Lady Bulldogs…..  My top sports story of 2019!!!!!!!!
