He Bled Blue Like No Other…

As Summer School comes to a close and the calendar gets ready to turn to July, the career of perhaps the greatest Hollister Tiger of all-time will come to an end.

Scott Wenger may or may not hold any individual athletic records.  He may not ever have his name on a field or a building.  But make no mistake, no one has meant more to the Hollister School District over the past 27 years than has Wenger.  When you think of Hollister Sports, or Hollister Schools, in general, in some way you think of Scott.

He has just about done it all… And I mean, done it all.  Off the top of my head, I can remember that he has served as: a  volleyball coach, a softball coach, a para, the athletic director, a bus driver, ms basketball coach, boys and girls hs basketball head coach and assistant, director of the alternative school, cross country coach, he taught science at both the high school and the middle school, paraprofessional, health teacher, and physical education at both the middle school and the high school.  Most recently, he has served as the assistant principal at the high school.  I am sure I have left one or two positions out.  The point is Scott Wenger is MR HOLLISTER.

He has touched countless lives.  Whether it was a player, a student, a parent, or a friend, Scott Wenger has had an influence on anyone that has had the pleasure to meet him.  He is loved by students and peers alike.  Administrators, Coaches, and teachers of the past, saw his potential. Administrators, Coaches, and Teachers today: get to learn from his knowledge.  He is the definition of loyal and the kind of man that all guys should strive to be.

Happy Retirement Coach, you deserve it….
