Wolves Kick Season Off with Blowout

Reeds Spring traveled to Nevada to start the 2019 season last night.  While, the Wolves had handled the Tigers twice in 2018, its a new year and both squads have plenty of new faces.  But in the end, it was a even more lopsided result 61-6.

Things did not get off to a great start for Reeds Spring.  The opening drive ended in a interception.  That turnover was followed by a 45 yard Collin Witte touchdown run. The Tigers took a 6-0 lead under three minutes into the contest.

Reeds Spring would answer. Just over a minute later Colten Cramblett broke loose on the first of his long runs on the night, a 61 yard scoring run.  His extra point gave the Wolves a lead they would never relinquish

Nevada would only threaten one other time the whole night.  They drove inside the five yard line, only to fumble the ball into the endzone and have the Wolves recover for a touchback.

From there on, the Reeds Spring offense and defense totally controlled the action.  The Wolves not only went the whole night without punting, they scored a touchdown every time they got the ball, after that first drive.

An already shorthanded Tiger ball club became even more so as the night wore on.

Colton Cramblett led the way on the ground.  The junior fullback ran for 221 yards on only eight carries.  He scored three touchdowns.  Sean Gross added 104 yards on five runs and found the endzone, three times himself. JT Bayliff added 79 yards and two scores and Steven Youngblood added a score as well.

In all, Reeds Spring ran for nearly 450 yards on the night and did so on only 23 attempts.

The Wolves will have their home opener next week when they welcome Seneca to Carl Langley Field.

The tri-lakes went 3-1 on opening night.  In addition to the Wolves win.  A last  minute score gave Hollister  a road win at East Newton 23-16.  Branson took care of Republic to the tune of a 42-29 final.  And Forsyth fell at Skyline 49-8.
