District projections at this early stage…

Time to start looking at the district and making some projections…  Remember a few things… This is only the way I see things considering what has happened so far, and what is still on the schedule.  It has nothing to do with what I would like to see happen.  This is also just as far as district seeding.  Once we hit the playoffs it a whole new ballgame.

Last year, I was pretty accurate.  Not a whole lot of changes from my first projections to what actually happened.  Now, this year already looks to be a whole lot tougher… but none the less, here we go anyway.

Class 3

  1. Cassville- They are young, but they are physical and so far the best that I have seen.  The win over RS would allow them to jump should they finish one spot behind. Don’t see them losing the rest of the regular season.
  2. Mount Vernon- Three tough games to start the season and three wins.  Project they will drop only games to Cassville and Lamar.
  3. Reeds Spring- Really think the Wolves could end up in the two spot.  Perhaps its my loyalty that says the two spot so,  for now I will put them in the three. Because of bonus points I can see a way they finish first in the standings and are dropped to second because of head to head loss.  (Even if Cassville and Mount Vernon finish right behind them, they would only drop one spot, its the max the state allows)  I think they have a great shot to run the table from here, if they just take care of business, and week 9 will be a battle, but that would still likely be a 2-3 seed.  The most likely way for them to get the one spot, would be to run the table and have Seneca finish ahead of MTV and Cassville.
  4. Monett- Cubs might not have the fire power they had a year ago, but they are still dangerous
  5. Seneca- May be the hardest team to predict.  They were young last year and are now getting the rewards of getting that experience
  6. Hollister-  They have more wins coming and bonus points will help keep them ahead of Aurora
  7. Aurora- No doubt they are better than last year, and I could be way off on them, they have played tough so far this season.
  8. East Newton- This one I am pretty confident about

Class 5

  1. Ozark – Dupee leads the Tigers to the one seed.
  2. Lebanon – They will get the benefit of bonus points over Ozark, that being enough is the only way I see they could finish ahead of the Tigers.
  3. Glendale- Not sure they are the third best team but think when the calculations are done they will be here.
  4. Branson- Pirates already have a win and likely to get a couple more, at least.  That will get them a home game week 10
  5. Waynesville- Tigers have started fast in their games thus far but so far have not been able to finish.  Looks like a rematch in round one, at this point.
  6. Central- No doubt in my mind that the Bulldogs belong in this spot.
