For the first time in school history the Reeds Spring Wolves track team finished on the podium as a team at the state track meet in Jefferson City . The Wolves claimed third place in Class 3.
Led by their strong sprinters the Wolves got points from nearly everyone that qualified for the Championships. Korey Robinette and Ransom Allphin each qualified in four events and each brought home four medals.
Robinette finished second on the 200m and third in the 100m
Allphin won the bronze in the 300m hurdles
Both were part of the 4 x 100m relay state champs and the 4 x 200m relay team that finished third. Allphin anchored the 4 X 400m relay team to a third place finish. Continue reading “Wolves make noise at State…”

The weather is causing some problems at the State Track Meet in Jefferson City. But despite the conditions the Reeds Spring Wolves are still in good shape..
Korey Robinette has qualified for the finals in the 100m dash but the 200m has been made a timed final that will take place tomorrow.
Ransom Allphin successfully qualified for the finals in the 300m hurdles.
Both relay teams that competed today, the 4 x 100m and 4 x 200m teams are through to the finals, while the 4 x 400m event will be a timed final tomorrow afternoon.

While most area graduations have already taken place and underclassmen are out for the summer, the track season is still going strong for a few area athletes.

Reeds Spring continues to garner attention, as the Wolves claimed the team sectional championship Saturday at Eldon. They will send a strong group to the State meet this week with hopes of bringing home the schools first State Championship. Korey Robinette and Ransom Alphin led the way as they each qualied in three events.
Qualifiers include: Korey Robinette Champion in the 100m and 200m
Ransom Alphin Champion in the 300m hurdles
Darrin Rathburn 3rd in shot put
4 X 100m Relay Champions

With Forsyth falling short in the District Baseball Championship game the broadcast schedule for 2015-2016 has come to an end. Still some track going on and hopefully some medals to be won but as far as sports broadcasts the curtain has closed.
What a year it was. Reeds Spring continued their success on the football field. Again, winning ten games and advancing to the district championship game before falling to Aurora. An incredible group graduated last night and Coach Lance Gosch will have some holes to fill, but, no doubt the young Wolves are excited for a chance to show what they can do. Rain and District baseball; It seems to be a mix that we get over and over. No doubt some years are worse than others. After a total washout, yesterday, we sit and wait on decisions on whether or not to play today.

It should not come as a surprise that my first post on this new venture would have something to do with Reeds Spring Football. But, it is not the kind of post that many would expect.

I want to use this initial post to pay tribute to a very “special” Wolf. This is a guy that has left an impression on me, and the school, that will last for years to come. In talking with a Reeds Spring supporter, I made the comment that: “There has never been a player that played so little, that I will remember so much.” The pure excitement and joy that this guy shows is magnetic.
